I open the door to the hall and run right into the angry kitten herself. She bounces off me with an “oof”. I steady her before she falls on her ass. “You should look where you’re going, princess.”
Honey shoves her hair out of her face with a growl. “You’re the one who came out of nowhere.”
I laugh coldly, more pissed than I have any reason to be. “So I’m the problem here?” Even as I antagonize her, I can admit she’s fucking gorgeous.
