PREY BLURB:
Lead guitarist Robin is a broody, beloved fan darling. He’s also the only member of The Rade who doesn’t have a love story so far. While fans and the press speculate, Rob’s busy dealing with his traumatic past as a real-life prince of Fairyland. His mother, the queen of the Winter Court, has finally had enough of his self-imposed exile.
Kay was raised in the queen’s palace, stripped of his history and sharpened like a blade to become the perfect assassin. Nevertheless, when the queen sends him after the exiled prince, Robin and his friends turn out to be too much for Kay to handle.
Robin sees his own past, his own flaws in Kay’s charming mix of innocence and bloodthirstiness and thinks he can be saved. The rest of The Rade aren’t so sure, but with patience, music, and compassion, Robin proves to Kay that there’s more to life than what he experienced in the narrow confines of the queen’s service. In the process, he gets closer to the angel-faced assassin than either of them ever thought possible.
But there’s no future for any of them until they deal with the fairy queen who wants them dead.

“You work for the queen, yes? You’re one of her projects, her elite?” The prince leaned forward a little, then winced.
The tall red-headed witch behind him said, “Careful, Rob.”
“Right, yeah.” The prince steeled his expression and looked K in the eye again, demanding, “Answer.”
K nodded.
The prince said, “I don’t know you. Do you have family?”
Again, K’s fingers twitched for the necklace. This time, he lifted both hands and worked the silk cord free with stiff fingers. He held up the silvery metal charm in the shape of a letter “K” for the prince to see.
His eyes flashed like lightning. “You’re a changeling.”
K looked down in assent. He didn’t know who she was, only that the human had been his mother, and when she finally died of Fairyland madness, he’d been allowed to keep her useless trinket.
“Wait, I thought that was when fairies left their own babies and stole human ones?” the russet-haired human asked.
“Here, yeah. In Fairyland, it’s what it’s called when a human has a baby there. They always come out fae, but they have no family,” Harper explained.
“Because the humans don’t last,” the human said slowly.
Harper nodded.
“Probably a mortal woman and a fae lord. They usually keep them until they have their babies, when that happens, even after they lose their minds. Free labor.” The prince’s upper lip curled in haughty disdain, cold as his mother’s and just as beautiful.
“Broooooo,” the undergrounder fae said. “That’s fucked up.”
“It’s not his fault,” The prince insisted, wincing and blanching as if in sudden pain. The huge furry thing stepped up to support him, but the prince shook his head, waving him off.
K had no idea whose fault he meant, but it wasn’t his place to ask.
“Yeah,” said the human who still had his arm around Harper, “but he did just try to kill your ass. So we can’t just let him go.”
The prince shook his head. “We can’t. He’ll go back to her. And she’ll have him tortured to death for failing.”
The entire room went silent. Eyes widened, faint gasps. From everyone except the prince and the other Winter Court fae, Harper. The two of them shared a look, then turned it on K.
He bowed his head, accepting his fate.
“So what are you suggesting?” The large, furry fae’s voice was surprisingly soft now. “That we keep him here and…?”
“I don’t know,” the prince said with a sigh of his own. “I can’t fucking think.”
