Esha whipped her head around to find Kasteel walking towards them through the garden. Framed with the golden light of morning, Kasteel glowed, the warmth of his smile and amber rings in his eyes amplified. With the shimmering outline around him, Kasteel looked like he was made from sunlight, all things warm and happy. Esha was struck with the peculiar sensation that if she were to hug him, all that vibrant joy would seep into her skin, infusing her with everything good in the world. And she wanted that.

As he approached, Esha noticed his confident stride, shoulders back and head held high. There was no sign of the prior evening’s hesitation or avoidance of her gaze. Instead, it was replaced with determination, sharpening his focus as his eyes pinned her in place. Great Star, Esha thought to herself as her body warmed, I’ll never be cold again if he keeps looking at me like that. Desire dripped from the top of her head down to the tips of her shoes as Esha drank in Kasteel’s attentive stare.
